2019 Planking Challenge

Join us May 15 at Parkview Field for the Crosswinds Planking Challenge, presented by Parkview Health!

Sign up for the Planking Challenge!

For the fifth year in a row, Crosswinds is shining a light on the importance of counseling with this physical challenge to support mental health. Competition areas include adults, kids, and teams, complete with prize categories. All proceeds will benefit the Crosswinds Cares Fund, which provides financial support for individuals and families in need of counseling services.

Here’s how to support (even if you won’t be planking at the event!):

  • Create your supporter page online through the Everyday Hero platform and share it with your friends and family via email and social media.
  • Challenge your friends and family to support your planking participation. Some ideas include: asking them to fundraise your entrance fee ($25), donating $10 for every minute you plank, or encouraging $25 donations based on how many people they know who could benefit from affordable counseling services (if they can think of 4 people, then they donate $100).
  • Participate as an individual, on a team, or as a spectator! Bring your family and friends to cheer everyone on!

The Crosswinds Planking Challenge is a family-friendly fundraising event featuring three competition categories, food, music, prizes, and a children’s costume competition. Adult costumes are welcome but not required.

Competitions and Awards:

Adult Individual

Longest Plank
Most Money Raised

Child Individual

Longest Plank
Best Costume

Teams (six members)

Longest Team Plank (cumulative time)
Most Money Raised
Most Team Spirit (team theme, group participation and energy, crowd participation, etc)

Team Planking Component:
Raise money to help your team win! For every $100 your team raises, five seconds will be added onto your cumulative group planking time.

At the event:
Each team will be given a scorecard to record their team’s official planking times.
Then, they will include the money they’ve raised and calculate five seconds for every $100 they’ve raised on their own. (Get creative with team fundraising – maybe your office starts a $5 collection on Fridays to wear jeans, or you host a 50/50 raffle a few times!)

Event sponsorship: $1,000 sponsorship includes screen and website recognition and t-shirt imprint, plus a company team. For more sponsorship levels and benefits, please contact Amy Shepherd at 260.702.3744 or amy.shepherd@lifelineyouth.org.

Now is your chance to show your fiscal and physical support for mental health during National Mental Health Month! See you on May 15!
